On Monday 12 May Saffron Walden Town Council hosted its Annual Meeting for 2025, during which Cllr Jubeyuir Ahmed was appointed as Mayor (locally known as Cllr Milon Ahmed) and Cllr Jeanette Curtis was appointed as Deputy Mayor.
Cllr Ahmed’s Mayor Making Civic Service was held last Saturday 24 May, attendees included fellow Town Councillors, The Town Clerk and officers, Uttlesford District Councillors and friends and family of the Mayor. Representatives of the Mayor’s chosen charity Uttlesford Community Action Network were also in attendance and fundraising activities will be announced in due course.
Said the Mayor “It is a great honour and privilege to be appointed Mayor of Saffron Walden, my family and I have lived here for 30 years and I feel deeply connected to our community and I am proud to call this place home.”
