Saffron Walden Town Council’s joint venture with UCAN and Enterprise East, the Jubilee Hub in Saffron Walden is a place to connect, share, learn and grow.
Jubilee Hub is located at 3 Hill Street, Saffron Walden, CB10 1EH.
Be part of our community
The Jubilee Hub is a community centre with a focus on family, children and young people, and community. The partnership brings together the experience, insight and expertise of the three community focused organisations to deliver a programme of inclusive activities. The initial schedule was launched on Monday 17th April 2023, and will be regularly updated once we conclude a more in-depth consultation with the community. These initial activities are the ones requested by residents at our pop-up sessions in the build-up to the soft launch.

Community Fridge
Saffron Walden Town Council is delighted to offer a community fridge as part of Jubilee Hub offering, for everyone’s use. The Jubilee Hub Partnership comprises Saffron Walden Town Council, Uttlesford Community Action Network (UCAN) and Enterprise East Group CIC (EE). Working together, its aim is to shape activities and services to meet the needs of the community whilst providing a community space for other activities / hirers.
The recently opened community fridge (managed by UCAN) located in the lobby, is stocked daily with fresh fruit and vegetables donated by local food outlets, along with still good to eat items like bread, cakes and drinks; it’s primary focus is on food waste rather than food poverty and is available for everyone’s use – no appointment is necessary. It operates whilst Jubilee Hub is open – weekdays only, between 9.30am – 4pm.
Said a SWTC spokesperson, “Making good use of this food, is not only a great way to supplement the Uttlesford Foodbank offer for residents, but also reduces food wastage in our town”.
If your Saffron Walden food / hospitality business would like to be involved with this worthwhile enterprise, collection arrangements can be made at the end of the day on either an ad hoc basis or as a regular arrangement. Please email connect@ucan.org.uk to register your interest.
