Successful Start to Saffron Walden Town Council’s Bandstand Season!
Saffron Walden Town Council was delighted to welcome residents and visitors to the first Bandstand session of the 2026 season on Saturday, which proved to be a great success.
The afternoon featured a wonderful performance by Saffron Walden Town Band, whose varied programme entertained a large crowd gathered around the historic Bandstand in Jubilee Gardens. The warm weather and lively atmosphere helped create a memorable start to this year’s series of free community concerts. The community wind band is open to musicians of all ages and abilities. The Bandstand Sessions will continue throughout the summer every Saturday until 05 September, bringing a range of local musicians and performers to the heart of the town. This week sees Clark & Johnson with an eclectic mix of light folk/pop/rock, arranged for guitar/bouzouki and gorgeous vocals – inspiring joy, laughter and tears and the urge to sing-along. Alongside them will be Pop up Art from Saffron Walden Art Society.
