Jubilee Hub

2026 Jubilee Hub Consultation –

Have your say! on the services and facilities at Jubilee Hub

Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) seeks the views and opinions of Saffron Walden residents.  It is particularly keen to hear from residents that currently attend the activities at Jubilee Hub, to understand what elements of the service are most important.  SWTC is also keen to hear from those that do not currently use the services to understand why.

Responses from this consultation will help to inform the future direction, improve the offering and services delivered from Jubilee Hub – the data will similarly be used to make further improvements to the building and infrastructure – and by illustrating a strong community voice, it will also support a substantial bid to The National Lottery.

The consultation closes at 12 noon on Tuesday 30 June 2026.  Have your say by completing the short survey;

  • Online HERE
  • Or by collecting a paper copy from Jubilee Hub or Tourist Information Centre.
  • The Jubilee Hub Partnership comprises Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC), Enterprise East Group CIC and Uttlesford Community Action Network.  Jubilee Hub opened its doors in April 2023 with a soft launch phase of activities over its first year which proved to be a busy time for the partnership.  In the last two years the partnership has established varied activity programmes offering youth services such as; Chat & Chill Youth Group and The Artist Hour, as well as retaining the established programme such as The Fellarship and Warm Welcome Hub.

Success stories for Jubilee Hub and Saffron Walden residents

Community Fridge:

The community fridge (managed by UCAN) located in the lobby, is stocked daily with fresh fruit and vegetables donated by local food outlets, along with still good to eat items like bread, cakes and drinks; it’s primary focus is on food waste rather than food poverty and is available for everyone’s use – no appointment is necessary.  It operates whilst Jubilee Hub is open – weekdays only, between 9.30am – 4pm.

Making good use of this food, is not only a great way to supplement what the Uttlesford Foodbank offer for residents, but it also reduces food wastage in our town.  SWTC was recently successful in securing Food Support grant funding from Essex County Council (ECC).  The funding support started in January 2026 during the coldest and hardest weeks of the year and is helping to support regular supplies of fresh items such as fruit and vegetable.

If your Saffron Walden food / hospitality business would like to be involved with this worthwhile enterprise, collection arrangements can be made at the end of the day on either an ad hoc basis or as a regular arrangement.  Please email connect@ucan.org.uk to register your interest.
