Town and District Council join forces for World Bike Day!
Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) and Uttlesford District Council (UDC) are delighted to be hosting FREE family fun activities to mark World Bike Day On Thursday 29th May, between 10am – 4pm in the Market Square, CB10 1HR, Saffron Walden.
Come and have a go riding a cargo bike and tuck into some free cake! Bring your children along for free ‘learn to ride’ bike sessions. Booking for this activity is essential – to register, please visit www.uttlesford.gov.uk/clean-air-events
Does your bike need some TLC? Bring your old bike for a FREE check over and to see the ‘bike doctor’ to get them back on the road!
Come and make a smoothie from pedal power on a smoothie bike, great for you and the planet! 1Life Lord Butler, Essex mobile outreach library, Essex Police bike marking will also be joining in with the fun – and have your face painted too.
A SWTC spokesperson said, “it is great to be working collaboratively with our UDC colleagues to provide this free family fun event for all to enjoy in the half term holiday” An UDC spokesperson added, “We hope this will complement our bike schemes across Saffron Walden and encourage more people to get back on their bikes and try using a cargo bike. The benefits of cycling extend beyond reducing emissions and car use, but also helps to increase physical activity levels as well as boost your mood.”
