Mayor’s Fundraising 60’s Night gets everyone Twistin’ the Night Away!

The Mayor of Saffron Walden’s 60’s Night was a fantastic success last Friday, bringing the community together for an evening packed with music, dancing and laughter.

The event saw guests embrace the theme and enjoy a brilliant evening of live entertainment from The Caveners 60’s Duo, who had the dance floor filled throughout the night with classic hits from the swinging 60’s.

The Mayor, Cllr Jeanette Curtis, said, “What a fantastic 60’s night with the Caveners, we all danced the night away! Thank you so much for all the support from local businesses, everyone who bought a ticket and Saffron Hall volunteers who helped on the night. The night would not have happened without the organisational skills and hard work from Saffron Walden Town Council staff, thank you all for making the night so special. Let’s hope we can do it again!”

There was a wonderful atmosphere from start to finish, with guests getting into the spirit of the evening, dancing along to the music and enjoying a fun night out while supporting the Mayor’s chosen charities – Together in Sound, The Garden Youth Music Project and Teenage Kicks Youth Plantation Football Club.

A spokesperson for SWTC said, “It was wonderful to see so many people come along, get into the 60’s spirit and have such a great time. A huge thank you to The Caveners 60s Duo for providing such brilliant entertainment, and to everyone who bought a ticket, danced the night away and helped make the evening such a success.”

The raffle on the evening raised over £300 for the Mayor’s chosen charities.

The Mayor would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the event, as well as all those who helped make the evening possible. For any feedback regarding the event, please email enquiries@saffronwalden.gov.uk.
