A familiar face at Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre (TIC) is leaving this week. Mark Starte, who recently celebrated 25 years as a Duty Manager, is taking early retirement to pursue an exciting new venture in the town. Together with business partners Robert McCarthy and Fiona Bates, he will be running “Neon, Vinyl and Art” in Emson Close. Mark will be greatly missed by all his colleagues.

Mark has been an integral part of the TIC and was instrumental in the setting up of the website www.visitsaffronwalden.gov.uk. He has been involved in many projects over the years, most recently organising the official visit by a group from Bad Wildungen, Saffron Walden’s twin town in Germany.  Both the TIC and the website are services of Saffron Walden Town Council.
