Mayor Making took place on Saturday, 14th May when the new Mayor of Saffron Walden 2022/23, Cllr James de Vries and the Mayoress, Mrs Sheila de Vries attended St Mary’s Church for the traditional Mayor Making Church Service. The Reverend Jeremy Trew officiated.

The Deputy Mayor is Councillor Doctor Richard Freeman and the Deputy Mayoress is Mrs Jan Freeman.
