Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) is excited to announce the soft launch activity programme at The Jubilee Community Hub (formerly The Garden Room, Jubilee Gardens).  Following the announcement on 15th March of the signed lease agreement from Uttlesford District Council for a 10-year tenancy, The Jubilee Hub Partnership; SWTC with Uttlesford Community Action Network (UCAN) and Enterprise East Group CIC (EE), is delighted to have opened its doors on Monday this week with an offering of community activities and events.

The Warm Welcome Hub, formally on Monday and Friday afternoons will be on Thursdays, commencing tomorrow from 12 noon – 3pm.  Friday’s programme is Digital Buddies from 10am – 12 noon and Creative Art from 2pm – 4pm (there will be a charge to cover the cost of the materials of £2.00 for this activity).  Pictured is Monday afternoon’s activity of Singing for the Soul from 2pm – 3pm, delivered by Enterprise East’s Sam McReynolds.

All activity sessions will be open to all of the community on a drop in basis – no need to book.  Further details of the weekly programme can be found here: www.facebook.com/jubileehubsaffronwalden.

With the primary focus of The Jubilee Hub being community support, UCAN will soon have an office base from within the venue for their Saffron Walden volunteering activities.  UCAN’s Chief Officer, Clive Emmett says, “we are very excited to be joining a collaboration with SWTC and EE to re-establish the Garden Room in the centre of Saffron Walden. This much needed community resource will be responding to local needs by offering a diverse programme of activities for local people and their families”.

Whilst UCAN and EE are SWTC’s primary partners, the aim is to work with all community support agencies and groups across Saffron Walden to enhance and improve the quality of life for its residents.  Expressions of interest in hiring the space should be directed to Colette; events@saffronwalden.gov.uk and these will be duly considered once the activity programme is established.
