T-Shirt 2 Tote Upcycling Activity
Creative Upcycling Fun at Saffron Walden Town Hall
Saffron Walden Town Council was delighted to welcome local families to Saffron Walden Town Hall last Friday for a fun and eco-friendly children’s activity, T-Shirt 2 Tote!
The event saw lots of enthusiastic young participants transform old T-shirts into colourful, reusable tote bags, learning valuable upcycling skills while helping to reduce waste. The Town Hall was filled with creativity as children proudly customised their new bags, giving pre-loved clothing a brand-new purpose.
Said a Town Council Spokesperson, “thank you to everyone who attended and help make the event so much fun. A special thank you goes to Rainbow Robin for providing wonderful face painting that added even more colour and smiles to the day! It was a most enjoyable session with Mums, Dad’s and grandparents getting creative too – the event highlighted the importance of sustainability in a hands-on and engaging way, showing how small changes can make a big difference to the environment. Special thanks to Uttlesford District Council for its funding contribution to youth projects, to UCAN volunteers Val and Sarah, and to Cllrs Asker and Curtis for their support”.
