SWTC Thanks Everyone Involved with it’s Christmas Events!
Saffron Walden Town Council thanks everyone involved with its Christmas events!
Christmas is behind us for another year – so now is a good time to reflect on the positive, generous and wonderful community spirit in Saffron Walden. Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) would like to thank everyone involved with the programme of Christmas events it hosted in November and December 2025. From the Light Switch On, to the Lantern Making Workshops and Lantern Parade – and from Santa’s Grotto to the Indoor Christmas Markets and the Carol’s at The Memory Tree; all were well received and supported by the community.
The programme of activities and events was provided free for all to attend – and this was made possible with the support of local business sponsors and supporters: with thanks to all sponsors and supporters; Pellys Solicitors, Intercounty, Redrow Homes, Group 1 Cambridge Mini, Warm Touch Plumbing and Heating, InXpress, Adams Harrison Solicitors, Saffron Hall, Uttlesford District Council, Peasgood & Skeates, Wilby & Burnett Architects and Saffron Walden BID.
A big thank you also to events partners and supporters; St. Mary’s Church, Saffron Hall Panto, Saffron Walden Camera Club, SWCHS Jazz Group, Somewhere 2 Sing, Tempos Performing Arts – and special thanks for the event stewarding support by volunteer groups: Uttlesford Community Action Network (UCAN) and The Lions Club of Saffron Walden.
And finally, particular thanks to the delightful volunteer elves and snowmen: Imogen Doe, Anna Kelly, Zoe Kelly, Peasgood & Skeates’ Josh Woods and Sam Melvin, The Town Crier, Matt Claire; Proclamation script writer, Matthew Frere-Smith; Kate Plummer Dance; Rock Choir; Compere and DJ, Stuart Vant of InXpress; and Father Christmas himself!
Said a SWTC’s spokesperson, “Our sponsors and supporters make an immense difference to what we can offer the community – and it has been a pleasure collaborating with event partners to provide fun and exciting activities and entertainment in the build up to Christmas – Any feedback regarding the Christmas events can be sent to: events@saffronwalden.gov.uk”.
SWTC’s 2026 community events schedule will be published shortly – for the latest updates follow Saffron Walden Town Council social media or visit saffronwalden.gov.uk
