Success for Town Mayor’s Fundraising Quiz Night

Last Friday 20 March, Saffron Walden Mayor Cllr Ahmed hosted another Quiz Night to raise funds for his chosen charity, Uttlesford Community Action Network (UCAN). The quiz was a fantastic evening of fun, laughter and friendly competition!

The Mayor, SWTC (Saffron Walden Town Council) and UCAN hosted a fantastic evening of fun, games and brain-teasing questions.

A total of 18 teams took part in the lively event, testing their knowledge across a range of topics. Guests also enjoyed a traditional fish and chip supper, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The evening featured an exciting raffle with many prizes won! The winning quiz team was awarded a bottle of wine each in recognition of their impressive performance.

Speaking after the event, the Mayor said, “It was a fantastic evening and a real pleasure to see so many people come together to support my charity, UCAN. The atmosphere was brilliant, the competition was lively, and the generosity shown through the raffle was truly heartening. My thanks go to everyone who took part and helped make the night such a success.”

The Mayor also extended his gratitude to all organisers, volunteers, and attendees who contributed to the event’s success.
