Success for FREE Pop-up Cinema!
Saffron Walden Town Council and Saffron Walden Baptist Church brought a FREE Pop-Up Cinema to the town during half term last week. Thursday’s programme saw four films starting with Chicken Run and ending with Top Gun; Maverick being screened – and with a full surround sound system, a 16′ x 9′ screen, comfortable chairs and popcorn available, the experience was enjoyed by many. A short on-line survey received positive feedback including;
“Such a lovely experience – I could not afford to go to a cinema as bills and food prices are so high, so I am very grateful for this opportunity to see a great film. Thank you”
“Very good event and well done to all who helped put it on. Good picture and sound quality from MACK Productions!”
“Wonderful idea and great it’s for adults as well as the kids”
“Loved this event – would love it every month / every school holiday. Thank you so much for an amazing day”
A Town Council spokesperson said, “it was great working together with Reverend John Goddard to bring this event to the residents of Saffron Walden. A big thank you to UCAN – who coordinated volunteers throughout the day – and a special thank you to Councillor Richard Freeman and UDC; funding allocated from Councillor Freeman’s New Homes Bonus made this free event possible”.
