Skate Park Refurbishment and Extension Work
Saffron Walden Town Council is advising residents and visitors that One Minet Skate Park is temporarily closed while refurbishment and extension works are carried out.
Following the positive consultation day held on Friday 5 June, feedback from users has helped shape the two-phase project:
- Phase one – Refurbishment of the existing park bowls.
- These works will take place from June until mid-July, during which time the park will be closed.
- Phase two – Extension to the existing street scene plaza, increasing the skating footprint and providing features for intermediary users.
- These works are expected to take place from mid-July to the end of August. During this time, the park will be partially open to ensure the safety of users.
Until the project is completed (anticipated end of August) the Green Mile will be intermittently used for vehicular access, where it is not possible to access the park via the neighbouring car park.
SWTC thanks residents and park users for their patience and understanding while the improvements are completed. The works will provide an enhanced facility for the community to enjoy and updates will be provided as the project progresses.
