Saffron Walden’s Summer Community Day with Dog Show – rescheduled for Saturday 19 September 2026!

Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) and Saffron Walden Library’s Community Day with Dog Show will take place on Saturday 19 September, 10am – 3.30pm, on The Common, CB10 1JH

The collaborative efforts will see SWTC co-ordinating and managing the event and SW Library hosting ‘WagFest’, the family fun dog show. All funds raised from the dog show entry tickets will benefit future projects at Saffron Walden Library and Essex Library Service.  The dog show, WagFest, will start at 10.30am and will include: a selection of entry categories e.g. ‘Dog that most looks like a dog from a popular children’s book’ and ‘dog that judges would most like to take home’.  Prizes will be presented to first place winners, and rosettes for first, second and third places.

A library spokesperson said, “we are also recruiting dog friendly volunteers specifically for this event.  If you would like to join their team of stewards to ensure a fun day for all, please give your contact details to the Hello Desk in the Library.”

Entertainment and Community Stalls

Arrive from 10am for a programme of community music and entertainment until 3.30pm.  Available also will be; bouncy castles, face painting, food and drink options – as well as a selection of local community and charity stalls.
