Saffron Walden Town Council Named ‘Council of the Year’ Finalist
On Tuesday 24th February, Lisa Courtney Town Clerk and Georgia Arnold, Deputy Town Clerk were honoured to attend an award ceremony at the House of Lords, Houses of Parliament, London. The event, organised by the National Association of Local Councils, honours the individuals and organisations that have demonstrated exceptional talent, innovation, and dedication in supporting their communities.
Saffron Walden Town Council was shortlisted in the top five Councils in the UK as ‘Council of the Year’ in recognising its work within the local community. There are over 10,000 town and parish councils across the country.
The judges noted the Council’s commitment in delivering high-quality services while enhancing Saffron Walden’s cultural, social, and economic life. It also recognised the Council’s strategic approach to partnership working, community engagement, service innovation, and sustainable revenue generation.
