Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) has that festive feeling; its plans are well underway in readiness for Christmas celebrations to commence!

The annual ‘Light Switch On’ and lantern parade took place on Friday 22 November – but the fun started sooner that that with two FREE lantern making workshops.

SWTC is again hosting its Grotto for families to enjoy, just £2.00 per child – no booking required, just turn up! – on Saturday 07 and Sunday 08 December (11am – 3pm) in the Town Hall, via the back door.

Town Mayor, Cllr Deryk Eke will also be hosting his Christmas Charity Tombola on 07 December; his chosen charities being Citizens Advice Uttlesford and Mind in West Essex.  If your retail business would like to donate a gift, please contact Colette at events@saffronwalden.gov.uk – and if you are a non-retail business, cash donations to enable SWTC to locally purchase items such as food hampers, crafting gifts, beer / wine, gift vouchers for hair / beauty and take-away food, for example, are also welcome.
