Saffron Walden Residents are reminded the Annual Town Meeting will take place on Monday 8 April 2024 at 7.30pm in the Town Hall Saffron Walden.
The meeting is open to all residents of Saffron Walden and it is a great opportunity to meet your Councillors and ask them questions. People can ask any questions as long as they are relevant to the activities of Saffron Walden Town Council. The Town Council is responsible for many services including open spaces, the market, allotments, Cemetery, play areas and public buildings such as the Town Hall and Golden Acre Community Centre.
Whilst any questions can be posed at the meeting, the Council reserves the right to respond at a later date should reference need to be made to further papers/information which may not be available at the meeting.
To enter the meeting, SWTC officers will request all residents to provide documentary evidence of their entitlement to attend. Residents are requested to bring photographic identification (i.e., driver’s license, passport) to enter the meeting. Should photographic ID not be possible a Council tax or utility bill showing the name and residential address will be suitable. Whilst this is not a legislative requirement, evidence of entitlement to attend will enable the meeting to run smoother, ensuring only those entitled to ask questions do so.
Subject to the number of Saffron Walden electorates attending the meeting, those not on the electoral roll may be able to view the meeting but will not be able to participate, raise a question or vote on any matter. Those wishing to attend who are not on the electoral roll will be allowed access to view the meeting subject to capacity in the town hall.
Those who cannot attend the meeting and want to submit their views are asked to do so in writing to the Town Hall, Saffron Walden, CB10 1HR or enquiries@saffronwalden.gov.uk.
Community groups in Saffron Walden who have benefitted from funding and support from the Town Council will present details of their activities.
