A Midsummer Poetry Walk – Saturday 21 June!
Midsummer’s day, this coming Saturday 21 June, is set to be a delightfully warm and balmy day – just perfect for a ‘A Midsummer Poetry Walk’! This is a self-guided walk providing a charming way to enjoy Saffron Walden in summertime at your own pace. You will be entertained by actors and poets who will recite songs and sonnets as you explore the gardens, mazes and thoroughfares of Saffron Walden.
Tickets are available at a start time between 11am and 2.30pm; and everyone is welcome! Under 18’s and students are FREE. Book now in person at the Tourist Information Centre or phone 01799 524002.
Said a SWTC spokesperson, “SWTC is grateful for the continued support of Uttlesford District Council – together with their funding, we are pleased to offer tickets at a subsidised price of £10 each – providing the opportunity for all to partake”.
You will be provided with a route map and instructions at Swan Meadow Maze (Swan Meadow Car Park), CB10 1DA, the starting point of your walk. Then stroll along through the footpaths, lawns and meadows while actors delight you and your companions. Please allow a minimum of 1 hour for your walk.
- The Bandstand Season starts this Saturday too! Why not pop into Jubilee Garden, CB10 1EH, before or after your walk to enjoy some live music from Saffron Walden Town Band (12 noon – 2pm).
