A Midsummer Poetry Walk – Saturday 21 June! 

Following the success of Shakespeare’s Sonnet Walk in April 2024, Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) is thrilled to offer another self-guided walk around the beautiful town of Saffron Walden.  ‘A Midsummer Poetry Walk’ will take place on Saturday 21 June 2025.

• Step into Arcadia and be entertained by actors and poets who will recite songs and sonnets as you explore the gardens, mazes and thoroughfares of Saffron Walden.

Tickets can be purchased at a start time between 11am and 2.30pm; everyone is welcome!  Under 18’s and students are FREE. Book now in person at the Tourist Information Centre or phone 01799 524002.

Said Cllr Alex Reeve, “This is a charming way to enjoy Saffron Walden in summertime – here and there, actors and poets will appear as if by chance to sing a song or recite a sonnet”.  A SWTC spokesperson added, “SWTC is pleased to be offering this cultural event again and is grateful for the continued support of Uttlesford District Council – together with their funding, we are pleased to offer tickets at a subsidised price of £10 each – providing the opportunity for all to partake”.

You will be provided with a route map and instructions at Swan Meadow Car Park, the starting point of your walk.  Then stroll along through the footpaths, lawns and meadows while actors delight you and your companions. Please allow a minimum of 1 hour for your walk.
