You are here:Home1/News2/News3/Great news! Lime Avenue football pitches and changing facilities are taken...
Saffron Walden Town Council has some fantastic, long-awaited news to share! The Council has finally taken over the Lime Avenue footfall pitches and changing facilities from Persimmon Homes. All transfer documents have been signed and are held by our solicitor and we finally have the keys to the changing room facilities!
Readers may recall that a few weeks ago, the Council wrote to non-Executive Directors of Persimmon Homes, urging them to intervene and take action. We also encouraged residents to write to Persimmon Homes which many did, our MP supported the process and also wrote to Persimmon as did the Community Football Club. We have collectively been resilient in our determination to hold Persimmon to account and the cumulative lobbying has sparked action with Persimmon finally remedying matters which have been outstanding for many months. Saffron Walden Town Council would like to thank all everyone who has supported this lobbying.
We now look forward to working with the community and the Football Club managing and using this site.
