Businesses and residents of Saffron Walden have been incredibly generous in their donations to help the Ukraine appeal. Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) is the custodian of some locally raised money for Ukraine and will ensure that funds are spent to help and support those refugees fleeing from their homeland to Saffron Walden.
In order to specifically identify and keep the funds secure, SWTC has created a specific budget “Resilience Fund” and individuals may apply for this funding directly to the Town Council. Typical examples of how the funds may be utilised include:
- Books and educational materials
- Basic provisions such as food, clothing, equipment to support residents as they settle into a new home
- Travel and transport costs
- Costs towards social events and activities to support families and individuals integrate into the Saffron Walden community
