Essex Food Education Programme- Community Partner Opportunity

Essex County Council has allocated funding so that organisations are able to provide food education and cooking programmes that support those who are struggling with the cost of living increases.

Sessions delivered as part of the programme should focus on cooking hot, nutritious and tasty meals on a budget. Sessions should also focus on cooking using with low energy usage appliances. Delivery partners should look to provide these cooking appliances at the end of the course.

This funding is available for a range of organisations to apply for including:

  • Charities
  • Voluntary groups
  • Community organisations
  • CVS teams
  • Local authorities / Town or Parish councils
  • Community Interest Companies
  • Early years providers
  • Organisations who are able to engage and support the following target groups through the programme:
  • Working with low-income families and free school meal children
  • Working with older people
  • Working with people with disabilities
  • Working with individuals
  • Working with young people
