Essex County Council has an update on a scheme that could help boost broadband speeds to some addresses in Saffron Walden.

The government’s Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme helps towards the cost of bringing gigabit capable connectivity to rural areas with poor broadband speeds. Essex County Council is providing additional funding to top up the existing voucher to allow a maximum of £15,000 per business and £8,500 per residence.

ECC is aware that some of the homes and businesses in the following postcode area have poor broadband speeds and they could be eligible for the gigabit broadband voucher! CB10 2SD

ECC will be sending the residents direct mail to inform them of the scheme. If you’d like to see the full list of addresses that are possibly eligible, ECC can share this if you contact them.

If you’d like to meet to discuss the scheme further and how you can help us spread the word in your community ECC are happy to organise a meeting with residents who are likely eligible. It’s worth noting that this project has a tight deadline, we’re aiming to gather the list of eligible addresses by 20th December.
