The cold rain did not stop the Community Tree Planting event on Saturday at Lime Avenue, ran by Saffron Walden Town Council and Cllr McLellan with the help of a number of volunteers and Cllrs. It was a successful morning with nearly 500 trees planted to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The tree planting followed the success of the 2019 community hedge planting at Anglo-American playground, Herbert’s Farm and Crabtrees.

Again, a huge thank you to all those who attended Saturday to help plant the new British native trees.
