Christmas Lights Are On!
The start of Christmas 2025!
Saffron Walden Town Council’s (SWTC) Light Switch On marked the start of Christmas in Saffron Walden last Friday. Following the Town Crier’s Proclamation, a programme of music and entertainment was provided; with Jazz from Saffron Walden County High Schools, songs from Somewhere 2 Sing, dancing and show choir songs from Tempo’s Performing Arts, and an exciting building up to the Light Switch on with cast members from Saffron Hall’s Pantomime Dick Whittington. Fun and excitement was had by all the local families who had arrived for the big event.
At 6pm, with the Market Square bursting with a ready and anticipating crowd, the ‘Lights’ were switched on and a family party spirit continued into the evening. A huge thank you to Stuart Vant from InXpress, SWTC’s compere and DJ throughout the event.
