Visit to town by the Mayor of Bad Wildungen, Saffron Walden's twin town
Recently Saffron Walden welcomed Ralf Gutheil, the Burgermeister of our twin town, Bad Wildungen, who came with his wife, Katerina, to attend Mayor Cllr Fairhurst’s Charity Ball on Saturday 23rd March.
After the formal Town Council welcome in the Town Hall, the Gutheils packed in a busy itinerary on their four day visit, including tours of St Mary’s Parish Church, Saffron Walden Museum, Bridge End Garden and the Fry Art Gallery. They also visited Audley End House and enjoyed the Lestyn Davies and Fretwork concert at Saffron Hall. During their stay, Ralf and Katerina met many members of the community and enjoyed their warm welcome so much that they are determined to return soon to spend more time in our lovely town.
Cllr Fairhurst said “I was delighted to welcome Ralf and Katerina to Saffron Walden and to the Mayor’s Ball. As part of my mayoral theme of working together, we agreed to build on our renewed relationship and we have already discussed ways of doing that, including creating links between the strong music and arts groups in our communities. I look forward to an exciting partnership and to strengthening the ties between our two towns."
