Town Council life continues as busy as ever
As part of its commitment to climate change and to support the environment, the Town Council has declared a “climate emergency” and importantly has introduced a number of tangible and practical steps to reduce its own carbon footprint and make a difference to our environment.
We officially opened the new play area on The Common and have received really positive feedback from everyone about this, especially from the children! We launched a colouring competition with the prize being to officially cut the ribbon with the Town Mayor. We received a number of brilliant and brightly coloured pictures, all of which can be viewed on our facebook page, Saffron Walden Town Council.
Hot off the press is news that the Town Council agreed to install adult exercise equipment on The Common, next to the play area. Funding is now in place and we are reviewing quotes from suppliers. We don’t have a firm date yet for the installation but watch this space!
Comedy nights continue to be a feature at the Town Hall – be sure to get those tickets quick as they are selling out fast! Tickets available at the Tourist Information Centre in Market Square.
The TIC is also selling tickets for Audley End concerts this year – grab your tickets from them; cheaper than buying on line through the box office so why not pop into town, buy your tickets and then grab a spot to eat in one of the popular cafes or restaurants.
