The team at Saffron Hall Trust are delighted to invite you and a guest to Saffron Hall for the BBC Young Musician of the Year Category Finals this July.

BBC Young Musician is the UK’s foremost competition for musicians 18 and under. Since its inception in 1978, BBC Young Musician has launched the careers of many of the UK’s most prominent classical musicians including Saffron Hall favourites Jess Gillam and Nicola Benedetti.

Saffron Hall, on the site of Saffron Walden County High School, is at the heart of a unique partnership between Saffron Hall Trust and Saffron Academy Trust – a family of schools who aspire to provide state education of exceptional quality for their communities.

Saffron Hall Trust is an arts and education charity based at Saffron Hall, bringing exceptional musical performances to local and regional audiences, raising aspirations among young people and promoting well-being in the community.

BBC Young Musician brings the Category Finals of the 2022 competition to Saffron Hall between Wed 6 and Sun 10 July. Five musicians from each category (Brass, Keyboard, Percussion, Strings and Woodwind) perform a recital programme in their bid to become a BBC Young Musician Category winner.

Fri 8 July 7pm: Brass Category Final

Sat 9 July 7pm: Percussion Category Final

Sun 10 July 6pm: Keyboard Category Final
