Melon invited to attend

This year Haverhill is the lead town for Suffolk Armed Forces Day and will play host to a series of events and you, your Mayor/Chairman are invited to join us to celebrate on the Market Square.  Deputy Lord Lieutenant Col Anthony Fairbanks Weston and Haverhill Town Mayor David Smith will official open the event at 12.00 noon.  At 1.00pm there will be the raising of the three service flags on the Market Square.

This year’s celebrations will feature live entertainment and several musical performances, including a performance from the stars of Britain’s Got Talent, The Big Sing. The choir received four ‘yesses’ from the judges during the 2023 show and have gone on to perform alongside such reputable names as Mica Paris, David Grant, Ellie Goulding and the London Community Gospel Choir.

There will also be a performance from Suffolk’s own Glenmoristan Pipe Band, who will also parade along the High Street at 11.00am. The Armed Forces Convoy sets off from the rear of the Arts Centre at 11.00am and will arrive at Market Square for approximately 11.20am.

There will also be a variety of stalls including Fishing for Heroes, Veterans’ Breakfast Club, Haverhill’s Local History and Family History Groups, Lancaster Bomber and Veterans’ Foundation.
